Candidacy
Is an assessment right for you?
Diabetic neuropathy, nerve compression and other causes need different evaluation. A promise to regrow nerves or restore sensation is not an appropriate basis for a treatment decision. A consultation may conclude that a cell-based procedure is not appropriate.
What we review for peripheral neuropathy
- Neurological diagnosis and any nerve testing
- Diabetes and medication history
- Pattern of numbness, pain and functional changes
What may change the recommendation
- Diabetic neuropathy, nerve compression and other causes need different evaluation. A promise to regrow nerves or restore sensation is not an appropriate basis for a treatment decision.
- Your diagnosis, previous care and current health determine which options can be discussed.
- A recommendation may be to continue established care or see another specialist.
Not everyone is a candidate. If our specialist believes the risks outweigh the expected benefit, we will tell you before you book anything.

The Stem Cell Mexico difference
Stem Cell Mexico System, an evolution of our original protocol
The Stem Cell Mexico System is the evolution of our original protocol. It standardizes patient selection, review of relevant records, cell handling, application and follow-up. The method of application depends on the condition and individual plan.
Cell viability averages above 97%; the result varies by preparation. Your team can explain the viability information and targeted viable-cell amount in your written plan.
97%+Average cell viability verified at the time of treatment
We prepare a measured cushion above the targeted cell amount so that, after viability testing, we can target delivery of the full amount stated in your written plan. We explain this before treatment because clarity about the actual viable amount matters.
Before choosing any clinic, ask these questions. These are our answers.
This information is an approximate reference to give you an idea of our approach. Every detail of your treatment, including cell amount and viability, is confirmed during a medical consultation with our certified specialists.

highly recommend. 1st trip in November 2024 for my right hip to avoid hip surgery. did an mri to find i should do my lower back, i didn’t but when i returned to the states and showed the mri to my doctor he said yes, go back, Speing of 2025 i went back and did both my right hip and my lower back, by september of 2025 i was able to do far more walking. 2026 end of April i did the lower back, hip, and a IV drip of stem cells. We ate just finishing a trip to Rome and Sicily where sometimes we walked 5 miles on uneven cobblestones for sightseeing. It has been transformative for me and my mobility. NOTE: I do exercises every morning to stretch my lower back and groin as those are my problem areas. However, i am basically pain free with just the issue of managing flexibility and strength. Please follow pre and post directions to get the entire benefit. I will be going back in the summer of 2027 to continue my progress. needless to say, no hip surgery. thank you!

I had a stem cell procedure here on June 3rd to help me with chronic pain I’ve been dealing for years. The care I’ve received from everyone, especially Dr Cesar Amescua, was wonderful. Their knowledge of steam cells and how to treat pain has made this visit a success. The care after my procedure has made this visit a blessing. My patient coordinator, Osvania and Beth explained treatments clearly making me feel very comfortable about the process. They were attentive to my needs and were very supportive. I highly recommend this clinic and its staff. You will be well taken care of.

Professional and caring team; my hopes were exceeded by the level of service provided. I received stem cells in both knees this week. Dr. Amescua was clearly experienced and skilled as well as relating and kind. The case managers, drivers, and nurses all seemed happy in their jobs and genuinely intent on providing good care. It is too soon to tell whether my knees will improve but I feel confident that this team gave me the best chance possible.

I had an outstanding experience with the entire medical team from start to finish. The doctors were extremely professional, knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely cared about my recovery and comfort. They took the time to explain every step of the process clearly and made me feel confident that I was in the right hands. The medical staff and personnel were equally amazing — kind, respectful, organized, and always ready to help with anything needed. Their level of care and attention truly exceeded my expectations. I also want to specifically thank the drivers and transportation staff. They were always punctual, professional, friendly, and made every trip comfortable and stress-free. Overall, this was one of the best medical experiences I’ve had. I highly recommend this team to anyone looking for professional care, excellent service, and people who truly treat patients with respect and compassion.

I have had an excellent experience. They really have a exceptional team, all the way around! The drivers were great and transported me and my companion from San Diego to the clinic in Tijuana and back to to the San Diego airport. They have our safety at heart. And of you're wondering... it is business as usual in Tijuana. Dr. Amescua is the best!

My experience was absolutely amazing, I came in for stem cells on my lower back, neck, hip, knees ankle, and wrist. Since the moment I contacted the clinic everyone was super helpful and kind. They walk you thru the entire process. They picked me up in San Diego and drove me straight to the clinic. Super easy to do. I am great full I came here and found this place....... I'm back in Tijuana two months later, I had such great results that I brought my wife to get her knees and shoulders done. My range of motion, agility, strength, and overall well being has increased drastically. I'm so estatic to be pain free and living a normal life. Once again my experience from the transportation at San Diego airport to TJ and back was effortless. No issues crossing nor time wasted. The Entire staff is so kind . I would recommend anyone having issues to visit this place it a life changer. I have tried many options in the states and nothing helped.

We just completed Stem Cell Therapy here at StemcellMexico in Tijuana. From Hotel to Clinic transfer through pre testing and bloodwork the care and compassion of every person we had contact with was awesome and remarkable Bet was our full time coordinator and she kept both my wife and me aware of all steps and schedules remarkably! We both have very positive thoughts about neck and back treatment results and I will be back for continuing treatments. Terrific experience all around and after many , many , many months of procrastinating on our part, we regret not doing this sooner!!

I came with my husband for stem cells. I did not know what to expect as he had been doing all of the communication. We are both highly impressed , that started from getting picked up at the air port. The drivers have been professional and friendly and helpful with suggestions on places to eat. Our coordinator, Beth, is like your friend you've not seen in years but picked right up when you see her. DR. Amescua was very attentive and stayed with us. The nurses and other staff , they are all very kind. Beautiful and kind people.

I was informed from a friend of mine about stem cell treatment. So I did my homework. This place the people were very professional. No hick ups. Picked up at airport straight to clinic MRI for my neck. Treatment soon followed. Though I am real sore I treated my knees my lower back and my neck. Transportation traveling across border was a breeze. Now all I need is time

I want to mention that I’m both a nurse and a dental hygienist. As you can imagine, I had certain expectations going in. I was seeking stem cell treatment for my 18-year-old daughter, and when it comes to my kids, the healthcare they receive must meet high standards—and I always supervise their care, given my background in healthcare. My first interaction with the clinic was through Vania. She was simply incredible. She’s exactly the kind of person you hope to hear on the other end of the phone when you’re first exploring a clinic—professional, informative, and kind. Throughout the process, she gradually sent us all the necessary information via email and answered all of my questions. What really stood out to me was that when she didn’t know the answer to something, she took the time to consult with the doctor rather than guessing or giving a vague response. That level of honesty and professionalism was something I didn’t see at many of the other clinics I contacted. The next step was a Zoom consultation with the doctor. This was a pivotal moment for me. There was no sales pitch, no persuasive language, no exaggerated claims, and no promotion of the service. Instead, the doctor gave a clear, science-based explanation of what they could offer and how the process would work. Every question was answered in a simple, logical way that even my daughter could understand. Most importantly, at the end of the call, we were told that the clinic could not accept her as a patient until they reviewed her MRI and confirmed that she was a good candidate and had a solid chance for a successful result. Respect. Thankfully, my daughter was approved, and we began preparing for the procedure. We were asked to make a 15% deposit (other clinics required full payment upfront), and we booked our flights to San Diego. Shortly afterward, we received a detailed transportation report: the name and photo of the driver, the type of vehicle (a spacious luxury SUV), and the license plate number. Our driver, Ramón, confirmed with us the day before and again the morning of the pickup. He was kind, professional, and very supportive. He explained the day’s schedule clearly and got us through the medical tourism border lane in just 1–2 minutes. The entire commute from our hotel in San Diego to the clinic in Tijuana took only 30 minutes. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Beth, who had already been in contact with us while we were still at home. She let us know she would be accompanying us throughout the stem cell therapy process. Meeting Beth was a pleasure. She accompanied us from the moment we met to the moment when we went to bed. Beth was a deeply caring person who supported us every step of the way. Her calm, motherly presence brought comfort during difficult times. She paid close attention to every detail and was always there, giving her time and energy without hesitation. Beth was a deeply intelligent and remarkably intuitive woman. Every gesture she made—whether large or subtle—came from a place of genuine care. Her attention to detail was extraordinary; she anticipated needs before they were voiced. Her support made a real difference. The doctor was incredibly knowledgeable and professional. He laid out a clear plan for the procedure, including what would happen before, during, and after. There were no vague promises—just honest, well-informed guidance that was fully backed up by what actually happened. We stayed overnight at the clinic for IV fluids, monitoring, and pain management—this was all included in the overall cost. It’s worth mentioning that this overnight care was something only this clinic offered; other clinics we looked into planned to discharge patients just 15 minutes after the procedure. Everything went incredibly smoothly. Afterward, the clinic’s driver brought us back to our hotel, and I honestly can’t stop thinking about how great the entire experience was—from start to finish.

I very much enjoyed my experience here. The drivers, staff, and coordinators were all exceptional. It's been a few months since I had my first round of stem cell therapy and I can say that my quality if life has increased. Definitely plan on going back.

What the evidence says
Diabetic neuropathy, nerve compression and other causes need different evaluation. A promise to regrow nerves or restore sensation is not an appropriate basis for a treatment decision. A consultation may conclude that a cell-based procedure is not appropriate.
Ask how the evidence applies to the exact cell preparation, application method and your diagnosis. Findings from one protocol cannot establish results for a different one.
Discuss investigational status, clinical evidence and applicable oversight before deciding. Availability of a service does not establish its effectiveness.
Possible risks
Risks depend on the cell product and procedure. Your physician should explain the potential complications and how they are managed before you consent.
This information is educational and does not replace a medical consultation.
- Pain, swelling or bruising associated with a procedure
- Infection or contamination
- Allergic or immune reactions
- Other complications related to the route and your health
- Limited benefit or no improvement
Your alternatives
Discuss established treatment, rehabilitation, symptom management and specialist care appropriate to your diagnosis. A recommendation may be to continue current care or pursue another option instead of a cell-based intervention.
